BOSTON, August 20, 2024 – FlatWorld, a digital-first award-winning textbook publisher, today announced the recipient of the FlatWorld Scholarship Program. Tennessee Tech University will receive free textbooks for selected courses during the fall 2024 and spring 2025 semesters. The annual textbook scholarship is now in its sixth year!
Dr. Steve Sharp, Samantha Allen, and David Hajdik’s courses at Tennessee Tech University will receive FlatWorld’s Environmental Science: A Need for Living Sustainably v1.0 textbook by Joseph Shostell.
“This course is a social-behavioral general education course, and as such, students from all majors can take this course as part of their general education requirements. We are trying to introduce as many students as possible to the importance of sustainability. The majority of our students are commuters, with many of them paying a portion of their way through school. Every semester I have students who struggle to pay for their textbooks. This scholarship will free our students from the stress of purchasing their textbooks and ensure everyone in our classrooms is equipped with the materials they need to have a successful semester.”
– Dr. Steve Sharp | Senior Lecturer
Dr. Steve Sharp will also benefit from a range of supplemental material provided for each title at no additional cost, including FlatWorld Homework, an instructor’s manual, PowerPoint lecture notes, test banks, a sample syllabus, and a test generator.
“Congratulations to Dr. Steve Sharp and his colleagues, Samantha Allen and David Hajdik, along with their classes at Tennessee Tech University.
We are thrilled to announce them as our latest award recipients and celebrate their achievements. Over the years, we have proudly supported 1,800 students, including 300 this year alone, through our commitment to enhancing education for those in need. Quality education should be accessible to everyone.
The FlatWorld Annual Textbook Scholarship is at the heart of our mission. It allows us to provide essential resources to educators and students alike. As we do for all students and educators, scholarship recipients receive access to the complete package of our supplementary materials, including our FlatWorld Homework system; we believe that neither students nor faculty should have to compromise on components that are critical to success in their educational journeys.
